چکیده

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence contrast-induced nephropathy and risk variables among patients undergoing multi-vessel percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Study Design: Prospective / Observational Place Duration: Department Interventional Cardiology, Peshawar Institute Cardiology in duration from November 2022 April, 2023. Methods: There were 168 both genders with ages 20-70 years presented study. Data on enrolled patients' age, gender, BMI, marital status education level collected after receiving written permission each patient. This research included people who had undergone a intervention. Serum creatinine >0.5mg/dl baseline value classified as contrast induced nephropathy. CIN-related factors studied. analyzed using SPSS 22.0. Results: Patients mean age 49.8±19.44 body mass index 24.1±7.37 kg/m2. 90 males. CIN found 42 (25%) cases. Contrast volume, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, >60 most common for CIN. Conclusion: Contrast-induced is serious danger PCI. Anemia (age >60), mellitus (contrast volume >150 ml), heart failure increase likelihood developing Keywords: Induced Nephropathy, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Risk Factors

Contrast-Induced Nephropathy in Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

BACKGROUND Contrast media are being widely applied for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This has resulted in increasing incidence of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN). METHODS We aimed to investigate the value of baseline serum IL-6 concentrations in predicting CIN before the rise of serum creatinine (SCr) in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Seventy four Cauca...

The prevention of contrast-induced nephropathy in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention.

Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in high-risk patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or other radiocontrast procedures. Approximately 25% of all patients selected for these procedures are at risk for its development. Patients who experience this complication have higher rates of mortality, longer hospital stays and poorer lon...

Risk Factors of Contrast-induced Acute Kidney Injury in Patients Undergoing Emergency Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

BACKGROUND Previous studies of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) were mostly based on selective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) cases, and risk factors of CI-AKI after emergency PCI are unclear. The aim of this study was to explore the risk factors of CI-AKI in a Chinese population undergoing emergency PCI. METHODS A total of 1061 consecutive patients undergoing emergency...

A Randomized Double Blind Placebo Controlled Trial Examining the Effects of Pentoxifylline on Contrast Induced Nephropathy Reduction after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in High Risk Candidates

Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) (known as contrast-induced acute kidney injury) occurs as a result of acute worsening of renal function following a procedure with administration of iodine contrasts agent and remains a substantial concern in clinical practices. The purpose of this study is to investigate the preventive effect of Pentoxifylline supplementation on reduction of CIN occurrence af...
